Internal Bodywork
Internal bodywork sessions offer a gentle and mindful way to release tension within the pelvic area, accessed through the vaginal canal. This nurturing approach can provide significant relief from ongoing discomfort, from previous injuries and past trauma or, for birth preparation including supporting optimal positioning for baby, and helping create a softer, more spacious environment for birth.
I recognise the vulnerability that can accompany this work. That’s why every session is approached with care, patience, and respect for your physical and emotional boundaries. I provide a calm and compassionate presence, ensuring you feel supported and safe throughout the process.
Why Internal Bodywork Is Important
Every organ in your body is held in place by soft tissue connections. In your pelvic bowl—home to your womb, bladder, and bowel—there’s a beautiful web of ligaments, fascia, and muscles working together to support and stabilise. The pelvis acts as a sacred protector of your reproductive organs, and the soft tissues within it are designed to hold everything in gentle balance. Their ability to adapt—especially during something as powerful as pregnancy—is truly awe-inspiring.
But just like any part of the body, these soft tissues can carry tension. This tension may be something you’re aware of—or something stored deep within, unnoticed. It can come from past injuries, your posture, emotional trauma, surgery, or simply the habits and patterns of your daily life. When this tension builds, it can restrict movement, create discomfort, and diminish the natural spaciousness of your pelvic area.
Soft tissues don’t just hold physical strain—they can also hold emotional memories. Through gentle, intuitive internal pelvic release work, this tension can be lovingly acknowledged and invited to release. With nurturing touch and presence, the tissues are encouraged to soften, become spacious and provide more comfort.
The vagina is an incredible, stretchable, and transformative space. Many women are only familiar with vaginal exams that focus on the front wall, such as a Pap smear or a cervical check during labor. But there is also a back wall—a powerful gateway to the deeper soft tissue structures that support and stabilise your inner landscape. With tender touch and guided breath, we can access this back wall to gently release held tension in the fascia, ligaments, and muscles—helping your body reconnect, rebalance, and remember its natural harmony.
Your session may include:
Debrief of current issues and discuss goals
External release techniques using a Myofascial approach
Scar release work: Releasing the adhesions and tension from any abdominal scars
Internal Pelvic Tension Release: Using one or two fingers, I gently assess and release areas of tension in the pelvic tissues through the vagina.
This work is an invitation to come home to yourself. To soften. To open. To heal.
